Technology access to kids is a boon or curse for parents?
Don’t play that video on your mobile phones, don’t show it to the baby. Don’t open laptop in front of your baby. Please don’t keep the baby in front of the television take him/her out. Doesn’t that sound familiar?
Technology is omnipresent like God, come on! We are in 2016 and you tell a tech savvy mother to keep her child away from a screen. How’s that even possible, is it really necessary? What difference will it make? How can you keep a baby away from mobiles, iPads laptops, and television screens when they all are part of your daily life.
All the new parents must have faced this challenge as in how to keep their babies and toddlers away from gadgets.
These days, both the parents are working. Leaving them with lack of time. So, after a hectic day at office, people usually want to keep it easy at home. As a result, they give whatever their child asks for.
Keeping all this in mind, how and why would you keep your children away from technology. It would be like isolating them from the world, which of course is not a good idea.
Everyday, new studies are published that show how dangerous it is to expose children to too much of technology. But how much is too much? You have all the multimedia options available on gadgets from playing a song to watching a video. So, why not fuse education and technology.
Don’t let your kid be a couch potato, make him/her do physical activities as well. You have to take the charge, as too much of everything is always bad. Even if you both are working, you can still create a schedule for your kid, which covers her/his playing, eating, studies and screen time.
Above all, you can teach your children a lesson or two on these little toys that too in real time. Be it teaching mathematics, drawing, languages, science, history, geography or any other subject.
You can even polish their skills buy showing them certain apps. With changing technology and the mode of education, teaching experts are giving emphasis on audio-visual mode of teaching.
We also need to change our perception about technology and gaming. You can always adapt good things and leave the bad ones.
